The only thing I used to know about Sigur Ros was from a special feature on The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers DVD (and I know how thrillingly cool that statement makes me) where Billy Boyd says that Dom Monaghan recommends the band, and Billy Boyd says “They’re from Iceland. I think they play the nose flute. A very difficult instrument to master.”
So when Matthew and I were dating and he brought over one of their CDs, I thought well, great.
And then I listened a few times.
And I thought—well—great!
They make for great journaling music in my classroom, and their songs create emotion like nothing else I’ve ever heard.
I have yet to see them live, but enjoy films like these, as well as their videos.
